RMIT UNIVERSITY - WAYS OF WELLBEING
RMIT University / RMIT Wellbeing was seeking a defined visual style for its initiative 'Ways of Wellbeing' that caters to both staff and students.
The brief requested an illustration-based style, soft colours overall, and defined looks for each of the six 'ways' or categories of wellbeing. After presenting a number of new directions that we could explore, the team decided that an organic line-based look was the best fit for their goals.
For the overarching visuals, I created a soft palette of blues (tints of the RMIT navy brand colour), and brought in a softened version of the RMIT red for the logo. The key illustration brings together visuals from each category. For the categories themselves, I assigned a soft pastel colour to each one, and bespoke drawings that could be simplified or elaborated upon.

Once the style was signed off, I created a style guide to ensure appropriate use, and built out templates on Powerpoint and Canva, so the team could create promotional / educational materials on their own.
CATEGORY ICONS
Each of the categories from the Ways of Wellbeing model was given its own signature colour and bespoke illustration.
EXAMPLE ASSETS
I created some examples to demonstrate how the style could come together for future assets, like posters and slide deck designs.
EXTENDING THE ARTWORK
When more decoration is required, I demonstrated how we could extend the category icons into more substantial compositions, with a mix of line-based and solid fill elements.
STYLE GUIDE
Created for overall team use, and for any future designers creating new artwork.
